Today through September 26th: At this time severe weather is not anticipated. I will keep an eye on model guidance trends concerning this upcoming weekend. A cold front will push in from the north. There may be some thunderstorms with the front.

No significant changes to the going forecast.
We have three weather makers to monitor.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Beta, an upper level low over Missouri, and a weekend cold front. Each of these features will bring a chance of shower and perhaps a few thunderstorms.
For the most part, the vast majority of the region will be dry today. A couple of showers may work into southeast Missouri late in the day.
Scattered showers will form tonight. Primarily across southeast Missouri and eventually those will slip into western Kentucky and northwest Tennessee. Nothing signficant.
Wednesday into Thursday will bring scattered showers and perhaps isolated thunderstorms to the southern half of the region. That would be Bollinger and Cape Girardeau Counties in southeast Missouri eastward towards Madisonville, Kentucky. Along and south of that line will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The chances of rani decrease as you move further and further north from that line.
Rain totals will not be significant. For the most part, below 0.20″. A thunderstorm could produce higher rain totals. Overall, today through Thursday is a light rain event.
Many areas may receive little or no rain (esp as you move further north in the area).
Check out the latest WPC/NOAA rain forecast. Not much.

Friday and Friday night will likely be dry across the bulk of the region. I have small rain chances over mainly western Kentucky and Tennessee.
A cold front will push into the region Saturday and Sunday. The highest chance of rain will arrive Saturday night into Sunday night. That rain event will likely produce 0.05″ to 0.25″ of precipitation. Locally higher if thunderstorms form.
Cooler air will filter into the region behind the cold front Sunday night into early next week.
