My apologies. Running behind this morning.
Two changes to the going forecast.
I have lowered rain chances because Hurricane Sally is not going to push as far north and west.
I have lowered temperatures a few more degrees for the weekend.
This will be the coolest air of the season, thus far! How about that.
I would make plans Friday through Sunday. Get out. Enjoy the early autumn like weather. Are the pumpkin patches open yet? 🙂
Sally is going to pound portions of the Gulf of Mexico with heavy rain, tornadoes, storm surge, and wind. Thankfully, it is going to spare our region from any significant impacts.
We do have a cold front moving in from the north Wednesday/Thursday. That will spark a couple of showers. Perhaps even a thunderstorm. For the most part, this does not look to be much of a precipitation event.
Rain totals of 0.00″ to 0.25″ is the going forecast.
The chances of rain will be a bit higher closer to the Kentucky/Tennessee border and east of the Land between the Lakes. That is a tad closer to the hurricane.
Still, even there, it does not appear to be much of an event.
We will have gusty winds over the coming days. A decent pressure gradient is setting up.

What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models. Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather. All models are wrong. Some are more wrong than others. Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.
I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation. If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.
