Weather Discussion

    1.   A few showers today.  A thunderstorm, as well.
    2.   Mostly quiet weather compared to recent weeks.
    3.   Nice temperatures and nice humidity levels.

.

Good day, everyone.

A fairly quiet weather pattern is underway.   Nicer temperatures today.  Lower humidity levels, as well.

We do have a couple of flies in the ointment.

An upper level disturbance will push across the region today.  This will spark some scattered showers and thunderstorms.  The bulk of the activity will be across Kentucky and Tennessee.  More widely scattered over Missouri and Illinois.

No severe weather.  A few thunderstorms will mix in with the showers.  Thus, lightning will be possible.

The disturbance will move off to the east tonight.  Rain chances will come to an end.

Another weak disturbance will be situated along the Kentucky and Tennessee border Wednesday and Thursday.  I included a 10% to 20% chance of showers for that system, as well.  In the end it may end up completely dry.  The system is weak, as mentioned above.

Another system arrives Sunday.  I did include a low-end chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Once gain, it is possible we remain completely dry with that event.

No strong weather systems over the coming seven days.

Temperatures and humidity levels will be great with mostly highs in the upper 70s to middle 80s and overnight lows in the low to middle 60s.  Nice for August!

The bigger story will be the lower dew points.  Lower dew points will make it feel nice outside.  Great camping weather.  Great lake weather.

Try and enjoy it!  What a gift.

Again, as a reminder, these are models. They are never 100% accurate. Take the general idea from them.

What should I take from these?

  1. The general idea and not specifics. Models usually do well with the generalities.
  2. The time-stamp is located in the upper left corner.

.

What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models.  Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather.  All models are wrong.  Some are more wrong than others.  Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.

I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation.  If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.
