A severe thunderstorm is defined as a storm that produces quarter size hail or larger, 58 mph winds or greater, and/or a tornado. That is the official National Weather Service definition of a severe thunderstorm
Sunday night through Wednesday: Severe weather is not anticipated.

Short range
The main story, in the short range, is the warm temperatures. Temperatures will remain anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees above normal. Normal high temperatures, for this time of the year, are around 80 to 84 degrees. Normal low temperatures are in the 58 to 60 degree range.
Several locations hit the 90 degree mark on Saturday! Summer hangs on. We all know that fall is knocking. Let’s enjoy the warm weather while it lingers.
We will have a daily chance for spotty showers and thunderstorms between now and Thursday. A series of weak disturbances will pass through the area. Each one of these disturbances will pop a few thunderstorms.
I am not anticipating widespread showers or thunderstorms, but rather scattered coverage. That does mean that some locations will once again miss out on measurable rainfall.
PWAT values (moisture in the entire atmosphere) will be high. That could mean locally heavy thunderstorms. If thunderstorms are slow moving, then they could produce a quick 1/2″ to 1″ of rain. That might be the exception, but it is something that I will be monitoring.
Daily shower and thunderstorm chances will likely range from 20% to 40%.
Lightning will be a concern for outdoor events. Keep that in mind. Organized severe weather does not appear to be in the cards.

Warm weather will continue into next weekend. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday and Thursday. Not sure about Friday, just yet.
Maria has formed in the Atlantic. I will be keeping an eye on the eventual track of that tropical system. It is still too early to know if it might impact the United States.
