Weather Discussion

    1.   Somewhat cooler.
    2.   Scattered showers over the weekend.
    3.   Another chance of showers middle of next week.

.

Welcome to the weekend.

I hope everyone had a nice week.  September is ticking along.  Not sure how we already in September!

We have a frontal boundary near the region over the next two to three days.  That will provide an opportunity for scattered showers and perhaps some thunderstorms.

I did increase rain chances a bit.  This still does not look to be a widespread rain event.  Some areas may receive no measureable rain.

A few models did suggest a bit heavier rain along the KY/TN border.  I will monitor that.

We will have a few clouds today but rain chances should remain to our west and north along the stationary front.

The exception will be the Hopkinsville, Kentucky area.  A shower could pop-up in that area today.  Light.

The highest chance of rain will arrive Saturday afternoon into Saturday night and then our far eastern counties Sunday (Pennyrile area).

It will be a tad cooler Monday and Tuesday.

Another system should bring shower and thunderstorm chances towards the middle of next week.

Again, as a reminder, these are models. They are never 100% accurate. Take the general idea from them.

What should I take from these?

  1. The general idea and not specifics. Models usually do well with the generalities.
  2. The time-stamp is located in the upper left corner.

.

What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models.  Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather.  All models are wrong.  Some are more wrong than others.  Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.

I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation.  If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.
