Happy October, everyone!

A fairly straight forward weather forecast.  Peak rain chances arrive tonight into tomorrow night.  No severe thunderstorms No flooding concerns.

A few showers may return to the area Saturday night and on Sunday.

Temperatures today will be well above average and then drop below average tomorrow!  A bit of a roller coaster ride in the temperature department.  Typical for October!

Next week looks nice in the temperature department.  Highs in the 70s.  Lows in the 40s and 50s.  No frost concerns yet.

Here is a summary.

  • One more very warm day today. Highs will reach the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. Winds will also pick up, with some gusts of 15 to 25 mph.
  • Big temperature change Friday. A cold front will move through, dropping highs into the upper 60s to middle 70s. Cooler weather will stick around through the weekend and into early next week.
  • Rain arrives late tonight into Friday. The best chance of rain will be Friday morning into early Friday afternoon.  A few scattered showers are possible on Saturday and Sunday, as well.
  • No severe weather is expected. A few thunderstorms are possible, but widespread strong or severe storms are not anticipated.
  • Rainfall totals of ½ to 1 inch are expected for many locations. The flooding risk is very low.
  • If you have outdoor activities tomorrow into the weekend, then throw an umbrella and towel in the car.

Bottom line: Enjoy the warmth today because a noticeable taste of autumn arrives Friday. Expect periods of rain Friday, followed by much cooler temperatures through the weekend and into early next week.

What is the % chance of rain?

These maps are broken down into 12-hour time periods.

* Remember, a 20% chance of rain during the summer months does not mean that it will not rain.  It means there will be a few thunderstorms on the radar.

** NEW SERVICE **  I have partnered with WeatherCall to bring you an added layer of protection.
.
More information on the WeatherCall subscription service at the link below or use the QR code.

.
We have a new service to complement your www.weathertalk.com subscription.  This does NOT replace www.weathertalk.com It is simply another tool for you to receive severe weather information.

I use it myself. I encourage everyone to have 3 to 5 ways to receive severe weather information. All sources can fail, and the more sources you have, the better prepared you will be in the event of severe weather warnings.
.
WeatherCall will call your cell phone or home number if your home is under a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning.  It only calls you if your home is inside the warning box/polygon. If you are outside the warning box/polygon, it will not disturb you.
Here is a video with more information and a demonstration of how it works.
