Here comes the nicer weather! FINALLY!
We have been talking about this cold front for almost three weeks. Now, it has finally arrived.
The cooler air will filter into the region today and tonight. It will still be hot today across the southern half of the region.
A cold front is slowly moving south through the region this morning. It will stall across southern portions of the area later today before finally moving south of the region this evening.
A few scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible, but most locations will stay dry today. Rain chances are generally around 20% to 30%, with the best chance for a few showers or storms across the Ozark Foothills and southeast Missouri late this afternoon. A small chance of rain may continue into Tuesday, but once again, most of Tuesday should be dry.
The big story is the cooler air! Behind the cold front, temperatures will finally return to more normal levels. Highs Tuesday will only reach the upper 70s to lower 80s.
Wednesday through the weekend looks dry and comfortable, with seasonable temperatures and lower humidity. A gradual warm-up may begin Sunday into Monday. 🍂😊🌤️
Autumn arrives tomorrow evening. I am looking forward to nicer weather.
I believe the 2026 heat waves are over. We will still have plenty of days in the 80s, but the 90s are becoming less and less likely moving forward.
