Key Seven-Day Weather Information

Yesterday, the WPC/NOAA rainfall outlook was way too high.  I mentioned that I thought it was too high.  They have come down some today, but I am still not sure it is low enough.

I believe the most likely outcome from Thursday night through Sunday afternoon is a general 0.40″ to 0.80″ with pockets up to one inch.

The threat of heavy thunderstorms is non-existent.  That will help keep rainfall totals in check.  Severe weather is not in the forecast.  Flooding is not in the forecast.

Key Messages

☀️ Very warm Wednesday and Thursday: Temperatures will climb to around 10 degrees above normal, with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. Despite the heat, humidity will remain fairly low, so it shouldn’t feel much hotter than the actual temperature.

There won’t be a heat index value (dew points are too low).  We are not returning to the heat waves from early and mid-September.

🌧️ Rain arrives late Thursday night into Friday: Rain chances will increase from west to east Thursday night. The best chance of widespread rain will be Friday into Friday night, with rain continuing at times Saturday.

⛈️ Isolated thunder is possible: Most of this will simply be rain and showers. A few thunderstorms are possible, especially across the southern half of the region Saturday, but widespread thunderstorms are not expected.

🌧️ Rainfall amounts: Most places will probably receive around ½ inch of rain, although some locations could receive closer to 1 inch. The chance of receiving more than an inch is about 30%. Flooding is not expected.

🍂 Much cooler this weekend: A cold front will bring cooler air into the region. By Sunday and Monday, highs should only be in the lower to mid-70s, with morning lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Bottom line: Enjoy the warm and dry weather through Thursday. Rain becomes more likely Friday and Saturday, followed by a noticeable change to cooler, fall-like weather Sunday and Monday.

The cooler weather will likely last well into next week.

Here are the ensemble forecast temperatures for the next two weeks.  Check out all those seventies!!!!

The colored numbers are the mean of 50 model runs.  That is the most likely outcome for temperatures.  Highs and lows.

These maps are broken down into 12-hour time periods.

* Remember, a 20% chance of rain during the summer months does not mean that it will not rain.  It means there will be a few thunderstorms on the radar.

** NEW SERVICE **  I have partnered with WeatherCall to bring you an added layer of protection.
.
More information on the WeatherCall subscription service at the link below or use the QR code.

.
We have a new service to complement your www.weathertalk.com subscription.  This does NOT replace www.weathertalk.com It is simply another tool for you to receive severe weather information.

I use it myself. I encourage everyone to have 3 to 5 ways to receive severe weather information. All sources can fail, and the more sources you have, the better prepared you will be in the event of severe weather warnings.
.
WeatherCall will call your cell phone or home number if your home is under a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning.  It only calls you if your home is inside the warning box/polygon. If you are outside the warning box/polygon, it will not disturb you.
Here is a video with more information and a demonstration of how it works.
