Weather Discussion
A warm start to the last week of September. Temperatures today and tomorrow will reach well into the middle and upper 80s. Some locations will hit 90 degrees! It won’t feel like early autumn outside.
We will remain dry through Tuesday night.
A series of weak disturbances will throw a small monkey wrench into the forecast Wednesday through Sunday.
There will be low-end precipitation chances during that time-frame. You can see that I have 10% to 20% chances into Sunday.
There will be a peak time frame for precipitation chances to be a bit higher. That would be Thursday over southeast Missouri. You can expect 40% to 50% chances during that time period. Again, mainly over southeast Missouri. Lower chances as you move east of the Mississippi River.
Temperatures will slowly trend downward Wednesday into next Monday. Starting out in the 80s and ending up in the 70s. Seasonal norms are in the 70s. Thus, we will be above average in the temperature department pretty much all week.
The good news is that severe thunderstorms are not expected. It is severe weather awareness week. Don’t forget that autumn can bring severe thunderstorms including violent tornadoes.
