Forecast Discussion
A complicated forecast over the coming days.
The forecast has a lower the average confidence rating.
A series of weak upper level disturbances will continue to move through the area into next week. Each one of these disturbances will produce isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Many areas, during each 12 hour period, will likely remain dry. A few locations will pick up 0.01″ to 0.25″ of rain.
There is not a strong signal for widespread showers and thunderstorms. Perhaps the highest probability of rain will be Saturday night into Monday. This is when a slightly stronger disturbance will push across the region.
If you have outdoor plans, today through early next week, then be sure and throw an umbrella in the backseat of the car. Go about your activities. Monitor the radars. That is the best advice.
Early to mid-week (next week) will remain unsettled with at least a chance of some scattered/spotty showers. A clap of thunder possible.
We do not expect severe thunderstorms or tornadoes. That is the good news.
Temperatures will vary based on cloud cover. They will mostly be in the upper 70s to middle 80s. Somewhat cooler next week with mostly 70s.
That would be near average to below average in the temperature department.
No frost or freeze alerts in the current forecast. It won’t be much longer and we will start talking about that subject!

Long Range Outlook. Looking towards winter.
As a reminder, our second “seasonal tornado peak” is upon us. Typically, OCT & NOV delivers volatile weather to our region. Tornadoes are common during the autumn months. As a matter of fact, some of our deadliest tornadoes occur during the autumn & winter months.
What can you do to prepare?
1. Make sure you are using the Beau Dodson weathertalk.com app.
2. Make sure you have THREE TO FIVE ways of receiving your severe weather information. Do not depend on just one or two.
3. Check your favorite LOCAL weather sources on a regular basis. We are always on top of the situation. We will let you know when severe weather is expected.
4. Have a severe weather safety plan for you and your family (make sure kids know what to do when they are home alone)
5. Teach your kids where they live on the local radar map. Ask them, during the weather broadcast, to point out where they live.
