.Forecast Discussion
Rain showers moved into the region Thursday night. They will become increasingly numerous today and tonight.
Rain will continue into Sunday night.
It will begin to turn colder tonight and tomorrow from northwest to southeast. This will occur as a strong cold front advances across the region.
There will be a wide range of temperatures over the next 48 hours. Check the typed forecast above for each region. That spells out the expected high and low temperatures.
If you have outdoor plans today, tomorrow, or Sunday, then monitor the Beau Dodson Weather Radars and updates. Plan on rain. Have a plan B.
Rain totals will vary. Generally, a widespread one to two inches of rain is anticipated across the region. There will be pockets of higher totals. Especially where thunderstorms occur or training of thunderstorms occurs.
Here is the official WPC/NOAA rainfall forecast. Take the general idea from this.
Flash flooding is not anticipated. At least not on a wide scale. Isolated issues are possible in poor drainage areas. We are in drought. Thus, the ground can soak up quite a bit.
This rain is also spread out over several days. It won’t fall all at once.
It will turn much colder Sunday and Sunday night. That theme will continue into Wednesday.
A frost and/or freeze will occur Monday and Tuesday night. Perhaps Wednesday night.
Expect lows in the 20s Monday and Tuesday night. This will bring about a killing frost or freeze. Perhaps the end of the grass growing season.
A few light showers may continue into Monday morning. Keep that in mind.
Dry conditions are likely Monday night through Friday.
