Weather Discussion

    1.     Warm today and tomorrow.
    2.     Rain chances ramp up Wednesday night/Thursday.
    3.     Colder for the weekend.

Weather advice:

Make sure you are using the Beau Dodson Weather Talk app and not text messages.  We can’t rely on Verizon and ATT to send out the text messages in a timely manner.  Thus, we made the app.  See links at the bottom of the page.

Weather Discussion

Warm weather has arrived, again!  It will be short-lived.

Today and tomorrow will be the warmest days of the week with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.  Not bad for November!  A few more clouds Tuesday (Tuesday will be slightly cooler than today).

Our next rain chances will arrive Wednesday night and Thursday.  A strong cold front will sweep across the region.  It appears this one won’t have enough time to pull true Gulf of Mexico air northward.  Thus, the risk of severe weather appears to be none.  That is great news.

Rain totals from this cold front will likely range from 0.30″ to 0.60″.  Possibly slightly higher in some counties.  Nothing extreme.

Colder air will filter in behind this cold front.  That arrives Thursday night and will last into the weekend.  Friday and Saturday will be quite chilly.

A fast moving southern system may spread a few clouds into the region Friday night into Saturday night.  Some models show a rain rain/snow mix as far north as Kentucky.  For now, I have the forecast mostly dry (very low end precipitation chances).  I will monitor the system in case it shifts northwest.

Again, as a reminder, these are models. They are never 100% accurate. Take the general idea from them.

What should I take from these?

  1. The general idea and not specifics. Models usually do well with the generalities.
  2. The time-stamp is located in the upper left corner.
  3. The EC European weather model is in Zulu time.

.

What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models. Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather. All models are wrong. Some are more wrong than others. Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.

I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation. If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.

You can see my final forecast at the top of the page.
