- Colder weather is arriving.
- Breezy, at times.
- Rain and rain/snow/sleet mix Saturday night and Sunday.
- Much colder next week. Below average temperatures.
Weather advice:
Make sure you have three to five ways of receiving your severe weather information.
.Forecast Discussion
Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
I hope you and your family are well.
A winter storm will impact the Central United States today into Sunday.
Check out the current watches and warnings. Winter storm warnings in pink.
Here is the central Kansas zone forecast.
Not going to lie. I wish we had some snow! I know I know. Some of you do not like snow. I love snow. Sorry!
The good news, for those who do not like snow, is that we are not going to receive any measurable snowfall. Locally, at least.
We will have a dry day today. No weather concerns today or tonight.
A dry cold front will push through the region over the next 12 to 18 hours.
This will bring falling temperatures tonight. Gusty winds, as well.
No rain or snow with the front.
The winter storm to our west will bring rain to our region late Saturday night and Sunday. The highest chance of precipitation will arrive Sunday morning into early Sunday afternoon.
Temperatures Saturday night will fall into the lower to middle 30s. Thus, the rain could mix with snow and sleet. Air temperatures and road temperatures should remain above freezing. No impacts are expected from the rain snow mix. Wet roadways.
I will monitor Ste Genevieve County, Missouri to Jefferson County, Illinois. Just in case temperatures were to fall into the upper 20s. Bridges could briefly have issues if that were to happen.
At this point, I am not concerned.
Rain totals will be very light from this event. 0.00″ to 0.15″. Not much. Barely enough to wet the ground.
Dry conditions as we move into Sunday night through at least Wednesday night.
Next week will be much colder with well below average temperatures early in the week.
Brrr weather.
Monday’s high temperatures will struggle to reach 40 degrees.
Tuesday’s highs will remain in the 40s.
Wednesdays highs will reach the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Thursday’s highs will likely be in the 50s!
The coldest night will likely be Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night.
Sunday night we will have lows in the 20s. Monday night we will have lows in the teens and 20s. Tuesday night we will experience lows in the 20s.
