- Fairly calm weather over the next few days.
- Watching a Friday cold front.
- Watching a system next Sunday/Monday.
Weather advice:
Make sure you have three to five ways of receiving your severe weather information.
.Forecast Discussion
I hope everyone had a nice Veterans Day.
The weather was nice. Decent temps. Quite a bit of sunshine. No complaints here!
Today will be nice, as well. A bit warmer. Many areas will hit the 60 degree mark. Some locations will even hit the mid 60s.
Nice for mid-November.
No weather concerns through Tuesday.
I am watching a system along the Gulf of Mexico that will spread some clouds into the region Tuesday and Wednesday. An isolated shower can’t be ruled out Tuesday night through Wednesday night.
Mainly over the Pennyrile area of Kentucky.
I capped chances around 20%.
Don’t expect much. Rainfall totals of 0.00″ to 0.05″. Trace amounts, basically.
A stronger cold front arrives Friday and Friday night. This front will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms. I do not expect severe thunderstorms.
The chance of rain will be focused over our eastern counties. I will be watching southeast Illinois into Kentucky and Tennessee.
I have rain chances in the 20% to 40% range Thursday night into Friday night. Again, mainly east.
Rain totals currently are forecast to be light.
Confidence in the forecast decreases as we move into Saturday night, Sunday, and Monday of next week.
Models/ensembles are showing a decent chance of precipitation. For now, this appears to be a shower system. Perhaps even thunderstorms.
Too early to know rainfall totals or if severe weather will be a concern. For now, it appears too warm for snow or ice. I will monitor trends in the guidance.
Occasionally, they have shown frozen precipitation the week of Thanksgiving. I am not forecasting that, at this time.
Monitor updates, as always.
Temperatures will remain seasonal into next weekend. No extremes.
