7-day forecast for southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky, and western Tennessee.
This is a BLEND for the region. See the detailed region by region forecast further down in this post.
A thunderstorm complex may impact portions of southeast Missouri early Saturday morning. If that happens then the chance of rain will be a bit higher over that area (early in the day). More clouds, as well.

Today through June 19th: Severe weather is not anticipated through Thursday. I am monitoring thunderstorm chances Friday into next week.
.
.
Today’s outlook (below).
Light green is where thunderstorms may occur but should be below severe levels.
Dark green is a level one risk. Yellow is a level two risk. Orange is a level three (enhanced) risk. Red is a level four (moderate) risk. Pink is a level five (high) risk.
One is the lowest risk. Five is the highest risk.
A severe storm is one that produces 58 mph wind or higher, quarter size hail, and/or a tornado.
The tan states are simply a region that SPC outlined on this particular map. Just ignore that.
The black outline is our local area.

Weather Discussion
-
- Nicer dew points today. It will feel better outside.
- Warm temperatures over the coming days. Less humid.
- Monitoring weekend thunderstorm chances.
.
Weather advice:
None
.
Well, I am glad to have a little break from active weather!
The great news is that lower dew points have finally pushed into the region. Yes, it will be hot over the coming days, but it won’t be NEARLY as muggy as last week.
We had oppressive dew points in the low to middle 70s last week.
Today, dew points will have dropped into the 50s and 60s. You will notice the difference outside.
The weather begins to become muggier by Friday and that will take us into next week. A more tropical air-mass.
Check out the dew point forecast.
Today
Friday
.
.
With that will come thunderstorm chances. Increasing chances on and off into much of next week.
The peak chances (through the short-range forecast) will likely be Monday. Before Monday, the chances will be more in the 20% to 30% (or so) range. Monday may deliver 40%+ chances.
A couple of cold fronts will be the culprit for the shower and thunderstorm chances.
I am also watching a developing tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico. That could increase our moisture levels, as well.
For now, that system is forecast to track to our south. As always, we need to monitor these systems.
Temperatures over the coming days will be in the 80s and 90s.

Again, as a reminder, these are models. They are never 100% accurate. Take the general idea from them.
What should I take from these?
- The general idea and not specifics. Models usually do well with the generalities.
- The time-stamp is located in the upper left corner.
- The EC European weather model is in Zulu time.
.
What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models. Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather. All models are wrong. Some are more wrong than others. Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.
I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation. If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.
You can see my final forecast at the top of the page.
