Today’s Average Regional Forecast Numbers
Temperatures will vary based on cloud cover and precipitation. Keep that in mind.

Good morning, everyone.
I hope you had a nice weekend.
We are waking up to some thunderstorms. A bit more coverage than I expected. We even had a severe thunderstorm warning earlier this morning in southern Illinois.
Some tree damage was reported in Christopher.
For the most part, the week ahead if likely to be mostly quiet. Hot. Humid, at times.
We do have a chance of thunderstorms today into this evening. Some of the thunderstorms could produce damaging wind and hail. Frequent lightning and heavy rain, as well.
Slow moving storms could produce isolated water issues, as well.
The Storm Prediction Center has us in a risk for a few severe thunderstorms today and this evening. Monitor your Beau Dodson Weather app.
Thunderstorm chances will be low Tuesday through Friday.
I will need to keep an eye on thunderstorm chances late in the week/weekend. Some of the data shows a bit more coverage than other data.
For now, the ridge of high pressure that has been baking the southwest United States will nudge into our region. This has happened a few times over the past two months. Then, it gets bumped back to the southwest.
That will be the case this week. I expect us to return to northwest flow late in the week into next week. If that happens, then MCS”s will return. Thunderstorm complexes. That means more active weather. Stay tuned.

Today through April 18th: A couple of the Saturday afternoon and night thunderstorms could produce damaging wind and hail. The tornado risk is low, but not zero. Mainly over Missouri for the tornado risk. The line will weaken with time as it moves farther east.
