Key Seven-Day Weather Information

• ⛈️ Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible today, but Tuesday has the best chance for rain and storms.
• ⚠️ Some thunderstorms on Tuesday could become strong to severe, producing:
  • 💨 Damaging wind gusts
  • 🧊 Large hail
  • 🌧️ Very heavy rainfall
• 🌊 Localized flash flooding will also be possible Tuesday afternoon, especially where heavy rain falls in a short amount of time.
• 🥵 A Heat Advisory remains in effect through Tuesday evening for most of the region.
• 🌡️ High temperatures will stay in the lower to middle 90s through Tuesday. Combined with the humidity, it will feel like 100 to 105 degrees today and up to 110 degrees on Tuesday, making Tuesday the hottest day of the week.
• 🌫️ Smoke from wildfires in Ontario, Canada, could lead to reduced air quality across parts of the region during the second half of the week.

📅 Day-by-Day Forecast

Today (Monday):
A few scattered showers and thunderstorms may develop this afternoon, but many areas will stay dry. It will remain hot and humid.

Tuesday:
A cold front will move through the Quad State region, bringing the best chance for showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could become strong to severe, especially during the afternoon. The main threats will be:

• 💨 Damaging wind gusts
• 🧊 Large hail
• 🌧️ Heavy rainfall that could cause localized flash flooding

Some storms could arrive as early as Tuesday morning, with additional storms developing through the afternoon.

🌤️ Looking Ahead

Behind the cold front, Wednesday and Thursday will be cooler, less humid, and mostly dry, with highs returning to the 80s.

Another chance for showers and thunderstorms may arrive late Friday into Friday night.

Most of next weekend looks dry, although a few isolated showers or thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.

Overall, Tuesday will be the hottest and most active weather day of the week, followed by a noticeable break from the heat beginning Wednesday.

Air quality issues could be worse mid to late week.  This is because of the USA and Canadian wildfires.

A severe thunderstorm is defined as a storm that produces 58 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail or larger.

⛈️ Current severe weather risk: POSSIBLE.  Some of the thunderstorms could become severe on Tuesday. There remain some questions on the timing of the Tuesday storms. 

🌪️ Current tornado risk:  NONE.    I will keep an eye on Tuesday.  For now, the risk is wind and hail.
