Weather Discussion
-
- Fairly calm weather.
- Fast moving system Wednesday into Thursday. Scattered precipitation chances.
- No extremes.
A fairly calm weather pattern will continue across the region.
We have experienced months of mostly calm weather. It has been odd.
The only weather story this week will be a fast moving/weak system Wednesday into Thursday.
It will bring increasing clouds and scattered showers. It might be cold enough Wednesday night for a rain and snow mix. No accumulation.
No extreme weather in the charts over the next seven days.
I am watching mid to late January for a pattern change. Perhaps higher chances of colder intrusions. For now, I am just watching it. The models have shown cold in the long range before. Ended up being average temperatures.
We have a few weeks of winter left. Typically, January, February, and early March are the winter months we watch for snow. Once we get to mid-March we are on the road to spring.
Meteorologists measure winter as December through February.

Again, as a reminder, these are models. They are never 100% accurate. Take the general idea from them.
What should I take from these?
- The general idea and not specifics. Models usually do well with the generalities.
- The time-stamp is located in the upper left corner.
- The EC European weather model is in Zulu time.
.
What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models. Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather. All models are wrong. Some are more wrong than others. Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.
I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation. If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.
You can see my final forecast at the top of the page.
