Weather Highlights

    1.   More rain.  Wet pattern into the weekend.
    2.   Mild temperatures for January.
    3.   Another rain event Saturday.
    4.   Drier next week with below average precipitation.
    5.   Winter has taken a break.  For now

Weather advice:

Make sure you have three to five ways of receiving your severe weather information.

Forecast Discussion

What a difference a week makes.  Last week we were dealing with near zero temperatures, snow, and ice.

This week we are dealing with mild temperatures and rain.  Widespread rain.

Check out the month to date temperature anomalies.  How many degrees below average have temperatures been, thus far?

The ten day anomalies are even more impressive.

The coming days, however, will deliver above average temperatures.  A nice break for the region.  I am sure everyone will appreciate not having to run their water and heat 24/7 to prevent pipes from busting.

Rain will continue into Thursday.  Tapering Thursday afternoon and night.  Friday will be dry.

A few thunderstorms will be possible.  This will enhance rain totals.

I can’t rule out some flooding.  Mainly low land flooding.  Areas that commonly have issues, during wet weather, may have issues.

Some streams will likely  reach bankfull.  Avoid flooded roadways in the event they develop.

A few thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday into Thursday, as well.

Another storm system pushes into the region late Friday night into Saturday.  This will bring additional rain.

Rainfall totals through Saturday night.

Cooler temperatures will follow the Saturday system.

Dry conditions are likely Sunday into much of next week.  I am predicting below average precipitation next week.  A bit of a flip from this weeks weather.
