Good day, everyone.
Just a few more days until meteorological autumn begins! Meteorologists are a bit strange. We measure seasons a bit differently. We consider September, October, and November to be autumn.
As a reminder, we typically see an uptick in tornado activity from mid-October through the end of November. Some of our deadlier outbreaks have occurred during the autumn and winter months.

Let’s keep that in the back of our mind. The weather will become more active as we push deeper into the autumn months.
A weak upper level disturbance is pushing across the area this morning. This could spark a couple of showers and thunderstorms today.
The majority of the region will remain dry. A couple of spots might receive a brief downpour.
Remember, a 20% chance of rain does not mean that it isn’t going to rain. It just means that the odds are your location will remain dry. It typically means that there will be something on radar.
It will be warm and humid today.
Saturday will be dry across the region. Rain chances are very low. It will be hot and humid. Summer weather.
Saturday night will be warm and humid, as well.
A cold front will push towards the region Sunday. This front and disturbance will linger in the region through Tuesday.
The end result will be scattered showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Sunday night. Becoming numerous Monday and Monday night. Becoming scattered Tuesday and Tuesday night. Low chances Wednesday.
It is possible that I may have to remove rain chances Wednesday. I am still watching that portion of the long-range forecast.
Either way, peak rain chances will be Monday and Monday night.
There will be quite a bit of moisture in the atmosphere. That equals a chance of locally heavy downpours. Severe weather is not anticipated.
Rain totals will vary from nothing to over 0.50″. Slow moving thunderstorms can always produce higher totals.
The official WPC/NOAA rainfall forecast shows heavier amounts outside our region. Again, amounts are going to vary locally.
