Fire Weather Discussion
A prolonged stretch of dry weather can be expected this week and through next weekend. Humidity levels this afternoon will drop into the 40 to 50 percent range, then for Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon, readings will drop into the 30 to 45 percent range. Northerly transport winds along with deeper mixing will allow for good dispersion over the next several days.
A Haines Index of 6 means a high potential for an existing fire to become large or exhibit erratic fire behavior, 5 means medium potential, 4 means low potential, and anything less than 4 means very low potential.

Beau’s Forecast Discussion
Wow, what an amazing week of weather ahead of us.
I should note that some reporting stations are very dry. Some have not received rain over the past two weeks. Now, we will tack another week in to that. Not the best situation for those needing rain.

Let’s look at the last 14 days of rainfall totals. You can see some dry areas on the map.
Last 14 days percent of normal rainfall.
Last 30 days rainfall anomaly.
Others have received too much rain over the past two weeks.
This is not uncommon during the summer months.
It will be nice this week. Lower temperatures through at least Thursday. Lower humidity levels. Lower dew points. All of that equals a beautiful summer weather forecast.
Highs will be in the 70s and 80s. Lows in the 50s and 60s.
There will be a warming trend Friday into next week. As a matter of fact, a lot of data shows 90s returning.
Summer is not over.
Let’s look at some model data for temperatures.

I do not have any rain in the forecast through Sunday.
The long range GFS model shows some showers around next Monday or Tuesday. It is a long-shot at this point. I will monitor trends.
