Forecast Discussion
Well, warm weather is going to continue through Wednesday.
Well above average temperatures. Expect daily afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s. Average highs for this time of the year are around the mid to upper 70s.
A cold front will swing through the region Wednesday night into Thursday night.
This will be the first autumn front of the 2023 season.
Expect a small chance of showers in the region Wednesday. Mostly over southeast Missouri.
The front will advance eastward Wednesday night into Thursday. This will increase the shower and thunderstorm chances area-wide. I will monitor the risk of a few strong or severe thunderstorms.
For now, however, the risk of severe weather appears low, but perhaps not zero.
Shower and thunderstorm chances will peak Thursday and then decrease from west to east Thursday afternoon and night.
A few lingering showers will be possible Thursday night into Friday. Some clouds, as well.
Rainfall totals of 0.05″ to 0.30″ will be the general rule. Locally higher in thunderstorms.
A cool down will occur Thursday into the weekend. As a matter of fact, highs may not get out of the sixties Saturday! I can’t rule out some upper 30s for lows over our northern counties Saturday night.
Patchy fog will be possible over the coming nights, as well.
