Weather Highlights

1. A few remaining showers and thunderstorms today.
2. Nice weather this weekend.

Forecast Discussion

Widespread showers and thunderstorms impacted the region overnight and yesterday. That was on top of Monday’s thunderstorms.

Some areas received two to three inches of rain! Other areas received no measurable rainfall.

There were a few reports of gusty wind, as well.

A cold front is making its way across our region today. That will shut down precipitation chances.

We will have a low end chance of a strong thunderstorm today. That would primarily be over Kentucky.

No significant weather is expected tomorrow through Monday.

Cooler temperatures, accompanied by a few clouds, will drift into the region later today into Friday.

Lower dew points and humidity, as well.

That will help it feel nicer as we move into the weekend.

As a matter of fact, a beautiful weekend is on tap for the region. Expect nice weather.

Dew point is what makes it feel so muggy outside. Muggy 70s today.

I am monitoring Monday night and Tuesday for additional low-end shower and thunderstorm chances. Plenty of time to monitor that portion of the forecast.

I am tracking what will become a category four or five hurricane in the Atlantic. For now, it is not expected to impact land through at least Sunday.

This outlook covers southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky, and far northwest Tennessee.

Today through April 18th: A couple of the Saturday afternoon and night thunderstorms could produce damaging wind and hail. The tornado risk is low, but not zero. Mainly over Missouri for the tornado risk. The line will weaken with time as it moves farther east.
