- A mild week ahead of us. Well above average temperatures.
- Monitoring weekend rain chances

Make sure you are using the Beau Dodson Weather Talk app and not text messages. We can’t rely on Verizon and ATT to send out the text messages in a timely manner. Thus, we made the app. See links at the bottom of the page.

Weather Discussion
Our quiet weather pattern continues. This has been one of the quietest weather periods that I can remember. We had the February snow events and two or three severe weather events (during the past year). Quite the amazing streak.
Quiet weather today into perhaps even the weekend.
There are some high clouds today to deal with. There will be on and off clouds all week as very weak disturbances move through the region (mostly dry disturbances).
You can see some of those milky clouds on this morning’s satellite imagery.
At one time, it appeared a larger storm system would impact the region Saturday and Sunday. Only a couple of models still show that happening.
I did keep low-end rain chances going Saturday night into Sunday night. We will have to see if that holds.
The GFS model has been the most bullish with widespread rain. It is an outlier. The EC model and the ensemble suites show very little in the way of measurable rainfall. For now, we will go with the low-end 20% rain chances. If we need to increase that, then I will know over the next day or two.
Otherwise, some gusty winds today and tonight. Some gusts could top 20 mph.
Today’s wind
A strong warming trend this week. I can’t rule out someone hitting the 70 degree mark towards the weekend. Sixties are for certain (several days worth as you can see from the top graphic). An odd start to the Month of December. Let’s enjoy it?
I know some of you want snow, but if it isn’t going to snow then it might as well be mild! That is my philosophy.
.

Again, as a reminder, these are models. They are never 100% accurate. Take the general idea from them.
What should I take from these?
- The general idea and not specifics. Models usually do well with the generalities.
- The time-stamp is located in the upper left corner.
- The EC European weather model is in Zulu time.
.
What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models. Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather. All models are wrong. Some are more wrong than others. Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.
I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation. If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.
You can see my final forecast at the top of the page.
