Weather Discussion
Rain is pushing across the region this morning. Most locations will end up with less than 0.50″. A few spots a bit more. Nothing major.
We have recorded some 10 to 25 mph wind gusts. Occasionally higher. Nothing extreme there, as well.
A fairly typical autumn cold front is marching across the region. That is the reason for the rain showers/band of rain. There have been a couple of rumbles of thunder this morning, as well. No severe weather to speak of.
This front will advance across the entire region today. There may be some clearing behind the front. Don’t expect temperatures to move all that much today. Once the front passes any given locations, cooler air will be filtering in.
We have two more fast moving weak disturbances to monitor. One of those will arrive Friday and one late Saturday night/Sunday.
The Friday system could produce a couple of light rain showers in the region. Most areas will likely remain dry.
The late Saturday night/Sunday event will produce some rain showers, as well. It might even be cold enough for some wet snowflakes to mix with the rain. No accumulation anticipated.
Dry conditions are expected Sunday night through at least Wednesday morning.
Another cold front will push into the region Wednesday/Thursday. Guidance indicates another band of rain with it. At this time, heavy rain appears unlikely and severe weather is not anticipated.
Temperatures will be quite chilly Friday into the weekend. A slow moderating warming trend will begin Monday.
All in all, not a bad forecast. Especially considering it is November.
