Weather Discussion
-
- Cooler weather.
- Scattered showers Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday morning
- Frost/freeze chances.
.
A fairly quiet few days ahead of us.
The main weather maker will be a cold front Tuesday night and Wednesday. Cold air behind this front will dip temperatures into the upper 20s and lower 30s by Thursday and Friday morning.
That means frost or frost/freeze conditions will be possible.
Gusty wind will develop Tuesday. Fairly mild Tuesday, as well.
The cold front advances eastward Tuesday night with a few showers along and behind the front. Then, colder air.
Any rain that occurs Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning will be light. Small chance of showers as early as Tuesday afternoon.
High pressure will build in behind the cold front. Typical for this time of the year.
The high will be fairly strong. That is why colder air will be a story. Thankfully, this is not all that unusual to have one last cold shot before spring attempts to finally settle in.
It will be chilly Wednesday with highs only in the 40s and 50s. Thursday, will also be quite cool with similar highs.
It will be dry behind the cold front Wednesday into Friday.
A slow warming trend begins Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
For now, I kept Saturday and Sunday dry. Some of the models bring a few light showers into the region over the weekend.
I will keep an eye on that.
I am watching Sunday night into Monday for perhaps a few showers. Again, long way off for confidence on that.

GFS rainfall totals for tomorrow and Wednesday (mainly Tuesday night).
The WPC has a risk of excessive rainfall Tuesday afternoon and night. A few spots could have downpours. Tennessee is really hurting. Way too much rain.

Again, as a reminder, these are models. They are never 100% accurate. Take the general idea from them.
What should I take from these?
- The general idea and not specifics. Models usually do well with the generalities.
- The time-stamp is located in the upper left corner.
- The EC European weather model is in Zulu time.
.
What am I looking at?
You are looking at different models. Meteorologists use many different models to forecast the weather. All models are wrong. Some are more wrong than others. Meteorologists have to make a forecast based on the guidance/models.
I show you these so you can see what the different models are showing as far as precipitation. If most of the models agree, then the confidence in the final weather forecast increases.
You can see my final forecast at the top of the page.
