Comments: Severe weather is not anticipated.

Seven-Day Hazardous Weather Outlook

1. Is lightning in the forecast? NO. I am watching around the 12th through the 15th for a system or two. It is too early to know if storms will accompany those systems.

2. Are organized/widespread severe thunderstorms in the forecast? NO.

..3. Is significant or widespread flash flooding in the forecast? NO.

4. Will non-thunderstorm winds top 40 mph? NO.

5. Will the temperature fall below 20 degrees? NO.

6. Is the wind chill forecast to drop below ten degrees? NO.

7. Is accumulating snow (one inch or more of snow) or ice in the forecast? NO.

Keep the kids off the ice-covered lakes and ponds. The ice may not be thick enough to support their weight.

Fairly quiet weather through Monday.
It will be cold today. Some flurries are possible.
A bit warmer tomorrow. Cooler on Saturday. Warming Sunday into next week.
The big story will be next week’s warmer temperatures.
A small chance of rain by Tuesday and Wednesday.
I am watching some bigger systems in the long range. But tracking and intensity remain open questions.

A quiet weather pattern is expected over the coming days.

Some schools remain closed due to snow and ice. It takes a long time to melt sleet.

It will be dry through the weekend.

Friday will be warmer. A bit colder on Saturday. Warmer next week.

Let’s look at high temperatures for the upcoming week. Overnight lows will be colder, but not as extreme as recent days.

I continue to watch February 12th through the 15th for one or two systems. Perhaps another one beyond that.

For now, I am watching the trends. Not the details.

The trends indicate there will be a system during that time.

Here is the EC model. It has done well this year.

Here is the GDPS model.

Here is the GFS model.

So, a system or two is likely to bring us some precipitation during that period.

The details remain murky. Models are all over the place with precipitation type and amounts. Just a tad too soon for that.

At this range, we just keep an eye on the trends. Warmer? Colder? Rain? Snow? Storms?

I am monitoring it.
