🌪️ Seven-Day Tornado Outlook ⛈️

April 21st through April 28th

Current risk: MONITOR.

Current confidence level: Medium.

Comment:  I am monitoring next Tuesday.  Severe thunderstorms are possible.  This is in the long range.  I will know more over the coming days.  A cold front will bring showers and storms back to the region late Monday into Tuesday night.  Right now, it looks like the highest chance of severe weather would be on Tuesday and Tuesday night.  Monitor updates.

For now, the Storm Prediction Center has outlined an area for severe weather on Tuesday.  This includes portions of our region.  I will be monitoring trends in the guidance.

.

Seven-Day Hazardous Weather Outlook

1. Is lightning in the forecast?  YES.   A chance of lightning  Thursday into Saturday.  The highest chance of lightning will arrive on Thursday and Friday.  A small chance of lightning Saturday night and Sunday/Sunday night.

A small chance of lightning on Monday.

A higher chance of lightning on Tuesday.

2.  Are severe thunderstorms in the forecast?  MONITOR.  A small chance of intense storms on Friday.  Severe weather appears unlikely.

Some storms could be intense next Tuesday/Tuesday night.

3. Is flash flooding in the forecast? NOT AT THIS TIME.

4. Will non-thunderstorm winds top 40 mph?  NO.

5. Will temperatures rise above 90 degrees?  NO.

6. Will the heat index rise above 100 degrees?  NO.

Forecast discussion.

  •   Mild this week.  Nice today.
  •   A few showers and storms from Thursday afternoon into Friday night.  I can’t rule out a few showers lingering into Saturday and Sunday.
  •   Another chance of thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday.  Peak chances early next week appear to be on Tuesday/Tuesday night.
  •  At this time, organized severe weather is not anticipated Thursday afternoon into Saturday.  I can’t rule out a strong storm on Friday, but for now, we are not expecting severe storms.  Perhaps a few of the storms could produce gusty winds.
  •  It will be quite warm early next week, with temperatures in the 80s.
  • A few storms could be intense next Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Good morning, everyone.

A beautiful day ahead of us.  I hope you can find time to go outside and enjoy the fresh air!  A great day to mow the yard.  Mild temperatures.  Light wind conditions.

A series of systems will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms back to the forecast Thursday afternoon and Friday.  With a few showers lingering into Saturday.  A small chance on Sunday.

Peak rain chances will likely arrive on Friday and Friday night.

Here are the anticipated rainfall totals through Saturday morning.

.

I am watching another system next Monday and Tuesday.  Especially Tuesday.

A few of those storms could be intense.  CAPE (energy that storms tap into) will be a bit higher with that system.

Temperatures will be warm over the coming days.

The warmest days will likely be next Monday and Tuesday.  Some locations could hit the middle to upper 80s early next week!

Here is the latest seven-day rainfall forecast.  This covers this week’s rain event and the one early next week.

.

Some data shows another system next Thursday and Friday.  A fairly active spring pattern.

We have a new service to complement your www.weathertalk.com subscription.  This does NOT replace www.weathertalk.com It is simply another tool for you to receive severe weather information.

.
I use it myself. I encourage everyone to have 3 to 5 ways of receiving their severe weather information. All sources can fail, and the more sources you have, the better prepared you will be in the event of severe weather warnings.
.
WeatherCall will call your cell phone or home number if your home is under a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning.  It only calls you if your home is inside the warning box/polygon. If you are outside the warning box/polygon it will not disturb you.
Here is a video with more information and a demonstration of how it works.
