Forecast discussion.
- Widespread mild temperatures today. A few clouds. A northwest wind, may make it feel cooler, at times. I hoping for more sunshine than clouds. If we have plenty of sunshine then some locations will hit the middle 60s! 50s north. 60s south.
- There is a chance of a few showers on Wednesday/Wednesday night. A band of showers. Light rainfall totals. 0.00″ to 0.25″.
- River flooding continues in some counties. It will take some time for the rivers to recede.
- Decent weather Thursday into Monday.
- I’m watching March 4th to 6th for a system. I can’t rule out thunderstorms. A bit early for certainties.
..
We are waking up to cool temperatures. It is a bit warmer than yesterday morning.
.
A great weather day is ahead of us. A mix of sun and clouds. I am hoping for more sun than clouds today. If we can achieve peak sunshine, then some of my southern counties will likely hit the middle 60s! That will feel amazing.
There will be a northwest wind. That will make it feel a bit cooler, at times.
The warmest day will be Wednesday (ahead of a fast moving weak cold front).
Widespread fifties and sixties today. Widespread sixties tomorrow.
.
A few showers and a rumble of thunder will be possible on Wednesday afternoon and evening. No severe thunderstorms, thankfully.
Here is the thunderstorm outlook from the Storm Prediction Center
The green zone is where lightning is possible. Again, no severe weather.
.
See the future-cast radars below the Weather Call information (scroll down).
Let’s look at those precipitation probabilities.
Wednesday, 6 am to 6 pm (mostly pm chances).
The graphic below, shows you the Wednesday evening and overnight rain probabilities. Peak chances will be around 60%.
A quick-moving band of showers.
.
This is not a big precipitation event. This will not aggravate the river flooding situation.
Rainfall totals will be on the light side. Some locations could end up dry.
Here is the latest rainfall forecast for the rain event.
Not much.

Notice the Poplar Bluff area has trace amounts. A bit more as you travel farther east.
I am watching several precipitation events during the first ten days of March. Right now, they look wet, not white.
A cooler shot of air is possible behind the March 5th system. Temperatures will likely be several degrees below average.
Guidance shows rain showers with a chance of embedded thunderstorms on Monday.
I have low-end rain chances for now.
.
.
Another system arrives around March 4th and 5th. Plenty of time to monitor these systems.
This one occasionally shows up as a stronger system. Then, other model runs take it away. Thus, I am monitoring trends in the guidance. Again, plenty of time to watch it.
>
The EC model is a bit stronger with the March 4th/5th system.
.
The severe weather analogs are showing some spikes of concern for areas to our south with these early to mid-March systems. For now, I am watching trends. Whether we have to deal with severe storms is unknown.
This graphic is for March 4th into the 10th. It is signaling mostly to our south.
I will keep a close eye on it.
At some point, severe weather will become a concern. It always does during the spring months.
Make sure you have multiple ways of receiving your severe weather alerts.
