A few showers or storms will be possible over the Mark Twain Monday, otherwise, the forecast is dry through the work week. Strong and deep mixing is expected each day, along with light winds and relative humidity dropping to 35-45%. In general the Mark Twain will see the highest humidity this week.

A Haines Index of 6 means a high potential for an existing fire to become large or exhibit erratic fire behavior, 5 means medium potential, 4 means low potential, and anything less than 4 means very low potential.

Make sure you have three to five ways of receiving your severe weather information.

Weather Talk is one of those ways.

** NEW SERVICE **  I have partnered with WeatherCall to bring you an added layer of protection.
We also have a new service to compliment your www.weathertalk.com subscription. This does NOT replace www.weathertalk.com It is simply another tool for you to receive severe weather information.
I use it myself. I encourage everyone to have 3 to 5 ways of receiving their severe weather information. All sources can fail and the more sources you have, the better prepared you will be in the event of severe weather warnings.
WeatherCall will call your cell phone or home number if your home is in a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning. It only calls you if your home is inside the warning polygon. If you are outside the polygon it will not disturb you.

Beau’s Forecast Discussion

After four days of showers and thunderstorms, Francine is finally moving away from the region.

As of this writing (Sunday night), there were still some showers and thunderstorms dotting the NWS radar.  The bulk of the activity was over Missouri and Tennessee.  A few showers over the rest of the region.

We may still have a couple of showers in southeast Missouri Monday, but for the most part the event is over.

The region received a widespread soaking rain.  Mostly in the one to three inch range.  A few spots less.  A few spots more.  Overall, a great forecast when it came to the rain totals.  The day to day details was certainly tricky.  Some had more sun than expected and others had more clouds.

Here are some radar estimated rain totals through Sunday morning at 7 am.  Additional rain fell after this.  I will have to wait on the new graphics later Monday morning.

I made this graphic just to show you the difference in rainfall totals across small distances.  This same graphic could be repeated over the rest of the region, as well.

These are radar estimated totals of what fell.

Less detail in this graphic, but you get the general idea.  Everyone in yellow, orange, and red received at least one inch of rain.

This was the most widespread rain event in about two months.  Much needed rain.  It soaked right into the ground.

The forecast for the rest of the week is dry and warm.  We will have temperatures above normal.  Mostly 80s.

Overnight lows will dip into the 50s and 60s.

We could have patchy fog develop each night.  Especially in areas that had a bit more rainfall.  Calm wind, clear nights, and cool conditions can lead to fog development.  Use care if fog does develop.

No significant weather this week.
